Welcome to the US Preparedness Blog!

This blog looks to present articles by FEMA, guest columnists, suggestions, ideas, best practices, lessons learned, and most importantly, a dialogue for all of us to discuss the topic of preparedness.

Topics may include preparedness for manmade, natural, and biological (avian flu) events. Specifically, we will talk about preparedness on terrorism (dirty bombs, weaponized chemical and biological agents, etc.), hurricanes, flooding, tornados, chemical spills, and biological diseases such as avian flu.

Rules: We are apolitical and non-partisan. This site does not subscribe to a political agenda, nor is this blog a forum for expression of political ideology.

Although we expect, and welcome, disagreement and dissent among readers and blog comments, we will not accept disparaging, derogatory, or insulting rebuttals. We expect rebuttals to be civil and respectful. Also, this is no place to advertise products. We will, however, at our discretion, allow links to sites and/or products if they are complementary to the preparedness topic.

Tell your friends about our blog and website. Start preparedness programs in your community with the help of state and federal emergency management authorities. Contact Stephen, Don, or Hugh for more information about preparedness products, speaking engagements, or resource information. We will be happy to help.
